The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the working hours for all its services during the holiday (Thursday, January 24, 2013) marking the birthday of the Prophet (PBUH), including customer service centres, paid parking zones, public buses, Dubai Metro, marine transit means, driving institutes, and vehicles testing and registration services.
Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), has revealed that RTA public transport means, comprising Dubai Metro, public buses, marine transit modes and taxis (Dubai Taxi and franchise companies) lifted 367.657 million passengers in 2012 compared with 346.5 million passengers in 2011, and 323 million passengers in 2010, according to figures released by the RTA Statistics Section. This brings the daily ridership of public transit means in Dubai last year to more than one million passengers, whereas it was 963,000 passengers in 2011 and 922,000 passengers in 2010.
Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), recently decorated the winners of the inaugural edition of the RTA award for scientific research, through which the RTA is seeking to identify talented and experienced employees in order to better utilise their potential in leveraging RTA business processes, and manage knowledge, besides publishing the winning researches in international serials to share the benefits at a wider level.
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), recently honoured 50 taxi drivers of the Dubai Taxi Corporation, and 20 bus drivers of the Public Transport Agency, as per the initiative of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to dedicate the Accession Day celebrations this year to general labour and staff.
Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), has announced that the total expenditure budget for the RTA in 2013 amounts to Dh6.242 billion, comprising an operational budget of Dh3.022 billion and capital and projects budget of Dh3.22 billion.
