New RTA initiative to enhance finance skills of employees

The Department of Finance at the RTA has unleashed an in-house programme entitled “Together Towards Professionalism” with the aim of enhancing the abilities of its human resources to excellent standards in the field of finance. This will empower employees to keep pace with the ongoing successes of the RTA in all fields to serve the community. The Program is set to run through to mid-2012.

Ukrainian minister visits RTA

His Excellency Kolesnikov Borys, Vice-Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine, praised the experience of the RTA in completing the construction and operation of the Dubai Metro project in a record time, besides upgrading the public transport systems and building an extensive network of roads and bridges to cater for the future needs of the emirate.

RTA's 73rd licensing plates auction fetches AED21m

The 73rd Open Distinguished Number Plates Auction held by the Licensing Agency, Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) attracted a huge crowd from various community segments for two, three and four-digit number plates; thus contributing to pushing up total proceeds of the auction to AED21,052,000.

Road show tours places of higher education

The committee supervising the Public Transport Day events at the RTA has set up a mobile stand to tour universities and educational institutions in Dubai to educate students on the benefits of using mass transit. On November 1, Metro, public bus and water bus services will be free for passengers as a means of promoting public transport to the community.

The programme of field visits covers the University of Wollongong, Dubai Men’s College of Technology, the Canadian University, the Dubai Women’s College of Technology, the American University, and ends at Zayed University.
