Work begins on 45km-long cycling tracks

The Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has begun construction of two cycling tracks at Seih Assalam and Al-Qudrah extending 45km, at a cost of about Dh19 million. The project will be a prominent sports landmark as Seih Assalam and Al-Qudrah areas are poised to serve as a rendezvous for cycling enthusiasts in Dubai.

207m use mass transit in 1st half of 2012

Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), has revealed that the number of commuters using public transport means (Metro, public buses, water transport and taxis) in Dubai clocked 207.48 million passengers during the first half of this year, which compares well with the number recorded in the first half of 2011, amounting to 180,544,372 passengers.

Signal junctions rise to 412

The number of signal junctions in Dubai has increased to 412 junctions, most of which are controlled by the Traffic Control System Centre of the RTA.
