All sectors and agencies of the RTA have obtained the assets management certification, PAS 55, presented by the British SGS Group, and the RTA has thus become the first government department or authority in the Middle East to obtain this international certificate.
HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of the Executive Council, recently honoured the winners of the fourth Dubai Award for Sustainable Transport (DAST), which is one of the initiatives rolled out by the RTA with the aim of motivating the public and private sectors to curb traffic congestion and conserve the environment.
The RTA has moved up to the sixth rank in Dubai in terms of improved customer service to various community segments in 2011, marking a sustained upward trend as the RTA ranked eighth in 2010, fourteenth in 2009, and 22nd in both 2008 and 2007. The ranking is based on the results of a customer satisfaction rating administered by the Dubai Executive Council as part of its strategies adopted for leveraging the level of service offered by public agencies and entities in Dubai.
